Hair Restoration

Discovering thinning hair and bald spots can be a helpless feeling for the 50 million men in the U.S. who suffer from male pattern hair loss, also known as androgenic alopecia (AGA). Fortunately, Tulsa Men’s Clinic offers innovative therapies including scalp PRP with or without Wharton’s Jelly, GRŌ© topical products, and topical exosome therapy to combat AGA and help you achieve thick, healthy hair once again. Effective as stand-alone options but even better when combined, our proven hair growth solutions can halt or even reverse hair loss, giving you back the confidence that comes with a healthy head of hair.

Address Your Hair Loss with Tulsa Men’s Clinic

Hair thinning and baldness affect over 50% of men over 50 years old. Male pattern baldness is a genetic condition where certain hormones produced by men with the trait affect hair follicles, leading to receding hairlines as well as decreased hair thickness and density. The extent and speed of hair loss vary depending on a person’s sensitivity to these hormones, and signs of hair loss usually appear after puberty.

Tulsa Men’s Clinic offers a complement of solutions that work with your body’s unique needs to regrow hair and stop or even reverse your existing hair loss. Our comprehensive approach includes safe, effective, and non-invasive therapies that are scientifically and medically proven to deliver results, such as:

  • Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)
  • Topical prescription applications, like our specially formulated GRŌ© products
  • Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for scalp
  • Upgrades to PRP with Wharton’s Jelly and topical exosomes

Whether your hair thinning and loss is the result of a hormone imbalance, an underlying medical issue, or a genetic predisposition, Tulsa Men’s Clinic can create a custom hair restoration plan to help you regain your confidence.

The Role of DHT and 5-AR in Hair Thinning and Hair Loss

Male pattern baldness and accelerated hair loss are largely caused by dihydrotestosterone, or DHT. DHT is an androgen hormone that regulates the development and maintenance of male characteristics and is involved in many of the same physiological and sexual functions as testosterone. It is produced when testosterone is converted by the 5-alpha-reductase (5-AR) enzyme in the testes, prostate, skin, and liver, and is essentially a stronger version of testosterone. Approximately 10% of testosterone is naturally converted into DHT.

As a more potent androgen, DHT can bind to receptors longer and amplify the effects of testosterone. DHT binds to hair follicle receptors up to five times more aggressively than testosterone, leading to the shrinkage of hair follicles and a shorter growth phase in the hair growth cycle. This, in turn, makes it difficult for hair to grow properly, resulting in thinner and weaker hair or even baldness.

Managing hair loss and baldness involves controlling DHT levels by regulating 5-AR activity. When 5-AR is suppressed, the amount of DHT in the body decreases. However, if 5-AR levels increase, more testosterone will be converted to DHT, sending more DHT circulating through the body and increasing its impact.

Genetics play a role in the sensitivity of hair follicles to DHT molecules, so although increases in DHT levels don’t always cause hair loss, the effect of DHT binding to hair follicle receptors is more dramatic and pronounced in men with the baldness gene trait. Hair loss caused by DHT binding to receptors is most commonly seen in the frontal and crown areas of the head. This is because DHT does not affect the hair on the back and sides of the head.

Stop Losing Your Hair and Start Regrowing it with Scalp PRP from Tulsa Men’s Clinic

Platelet-rich plasma, commonly known as PRP, boasts approximately five times the platelet concentration present in the rest of your bloodstream. This high platelet content provides potent growth factors, which have the potential to stimulate dormant hair follicles and prompt them to transition into the active growth phase.

Scalp PRP therapy is a non-invasive procedure that harnesses your body’s own PRP to address and potentially reverse mild to moderate hair thinning and loss. It is a remarkably effective standalone solution, yet its efficacy can be further elevated through complementary procedures tailored to maximize the desired outcomes.

Optimize Your Scalp PRP Therapy

At Tulsa Men’s Clinic, our scalp PRP can be upgraded with supplemental therapies for better, faster results, such as:

  • GRŌ©, our specially compounded and scientifically formulated topical product. When applied every 3 months, GRŌ© works to increase blood flow and circulation to the scalp and lower DHT levels.
  • Wharton’s Jelly, an allograft of additional growth factors, proteins, and live cells that further stimulate the hair growth process, improve the efficacy of PRP therapy, and maximize results.
  • Topical exosome therapy in 3 sessions, one per month*, to deliver concentrated vesicles into the scalp for reactivating dormant cells and trigger hair growth.

Though the combination of PRP, Wharton’s Jelly, and GRŌ© typically delivers the most favorable outcomes for our patients, our diverse product range enables us to offer cost-effective and competitive alternatives to traditional hair replacement solutions that you won’t find anywhere else. One such approach involves combining a small-patch PRP with the application of GRŌ© topical, which has proven to be nearly as effective.

*Topical exosomes are only offered as an upgrade to scalp PRP or PRP with Wharton’s Jelly.

GRŌ© at Tulsa Men’s Clinic

GRŌ© topical products from Tulsa Men’s Clinic offer a unique approach to hair loss that stands apart from other medications on the market. Rather than simply blocking the two types of 5-AR enzyme to reduce DHT production, TMC has formulated our products to improve efficacy, stability, and usability while reducing irritation. Our prescription-strength GRŌ© products contain a combination of high-quality, complementary ingredients that provide customized solutions for all stages of hair thinning and loss.

GRŌ© Plus (Formula 82F) is for mild to moderate hair loss and contains minoxidil and finasteride.

Topical finasteride blocks the conversion of testosterone and prevents DHT from binding to hair follicles, resulting in improved hair count. It is a Type 2 5-AR inhibitor that has been FDA-approved for hair loss since 1997, and its lower systemic exposure and impact on serum DHT concentrates make it better tolerated than oral finasteride.

Topical minoxidil is a popular FDA-approved medication that improves blood flow to hair follicles by widening and loosening the blood vessels, stimulating growth without affecting hormones. It’s a safe and effective option for both men and women, although it doesn’t treat receding hairlines or baldness and its effects diminish once use is discontinued.

GRŌ© Plus (Formula 82F) also contains tretinoin, a type of retinoid, to stimulate hair regrowth by increasing skin cell production, and fluocinolone, a corticosteroid, to relieve discomfort caused by skin conditions.

By expanding the blood vessels, increasing blood flow and blood circulation, and lowering DHT, these medications stimulate the scalp and give hair follicles the nutrients they need to produce and strengthen new hair strands, producing dramatic results. In clinical trials, 86% of patients who used GRŌ© Plus (Formula 82F) saw a complete halt in the progression of hair loss, while 65% experienced a substantial increase in hair growth. In another study, 94.1% of men with male pattern baldness who used this combination of finasteride and minoxidil at the same time saw improvements in hair volume.

What makes TMC’s GRŌ© therapy application different from other hair loss medications is our unique formulation, which is designed to improve efficacy, usability, and stability while reducing irritation. In combining these high-quality, complementary ingredients proven to block the 5-AR enzyme and reduce or halt the conversion of testosterone into DHT, TMC can deliver customized hair loss solutions for all stages of mild to moderate hair thinning and loss.

Enhanced Hair Restoration Results with Exosome Therapy

At Tulsa Men’s Clinic, we enhance our hair restoration solutions with revolutionary topical exosome therapy, harnessing the power of naturally derived biomolecules such as proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids to stimulate hair regeneration during the initial stages of hair loss.

Unique extracellular vesicles, exosomes play a vital role in cell communication and offer an array of potent growth factors and enzymes that can precisely activate targeted responses from the body’s immune system. Additionally, they contain RNA and mRNA, crucial cellular components that counteract the androgen hormone DHT, facilitating the synthesis and production of essential proteins.

Topical exosome therapy operates at the cellular level, effectively managing the influence of androgen receptor genes. By doing so, it gently activates and revitalizes hair follicles that remain dormant in the telogen (resting) phase of the hair growth cycle, skillfully guiding them into the anagen (growth) phase. This process fosters an elongated hair growth cycle, resulting in stronger hair and effectively counteracting the effects of hair miniaturization and brittleness often associated with aging.

When used as a supplement with our GRŌ© products, topical exosome therapy can help promote functions necessary for healthy hair growth, including:

  • Improved blood supply to damaged tissue
  • Extended hair growth cycle
  • Collagen regeneration
  • New tissue growth
  • Dormant gene activation
  • Reversed tissue degeneration

At Tulsa Men’s Clinic, our topical exosome therapy stands at the forefront of innovation, incorporating the finest and most advanced products available. We proudly offer the world’s first reproducible pure exosomes, manufactured in compliance with stringent FDA drug and vaccine production guidelines. These exosomes are isolated and derived from cell-free human tissue, meticulously resuspended in 0.9% normal saline.

What sets our topical exosome therapy apart is our commitment to excellence. We procure and process the exosomes right here in the United States from master banks featuring single donor, pre-covid sources. Every lot is tested for sterility and endotoxin and both quantified and qualified via:

  • Protein concentration
  • Visual purity assay
  • dSTORM visualization
  • Flow cytometric surface marker testing
  • NanoSight sizing
  • mRNA sequencing
  • Mass Spectrometric protein sequencing

The unrivaled formula utilized at Tulsa Men’s Clinic boasts unmatched RNA content, purity, and potency, clearly surpassing the standards set by our competitors.

Topical exosome therapy used in conjunction with PRP for scalp (with or without Wharton’s Jelly) and GRŌ© applications effectively promotes essential functions for healthy hair growth, including:

  • Improved blood supply to damaged tissue
  • Collagen regeneration
  • Activation of dormant genes
  • Reversal of tissue degeneration
  • New tissue growth
  • An extended hair growth cycle

By combining topical exosome therapy with our other proven hair restoration solutions–a series of three topical exosome therapy sessions over three months is recommended for best results, each consisting of one trillion exosomes–we can help many patients experience natural hair growth as soon as two to three months after the initial application, with new hair growth continuing over the course of a year.

FAQs

Can topical exosome therapy extend the hair growth cycle?

Topical exosome therapy revolutionizes the hair growth cycle by facilitating the seamless transition of dormant hair follicles from the telogen phase into the active growth phase, known as the anagen phase. This is a fundamental process because, like other aspects of our body, hair follicles also undergo the aging process. However, unlike other cells, follicular cells age with each growth cycle, leading to a progressive reduction in size and increase in brittleness during phase transitions.

Over time, hair strands steadily diminish following each telogen phase until the growth ultimately ceases—a natural progression that typically spans decades but may manifest much earlier in many men with genetic predisposition to hair loss.

While numerous hair care products and treatments can partially extend the hair growth cycle, none can rival the remarkable and transformative outcomes achieved through topical exosome therapy. The administration of topical exosomes sustains the elongation of the hair growth cycle, facilitating the emergence of thicker and healthier hair strands. Embrace the exceptional potential of topical exosome therapy and embark on a journey to rediscover your vibrant and revitalized hair.

How many exosomes are in each application?

At Tulsa Men’s Clinic, we take immense pride in offering our patients the most exceptional topical exosome therapy available to commercial medicine, administering an impressive one trillion exosomes per session and guaranteeing remarkable results at an affordable cost. In stark contrast, our competitors use only a fraction of this quantity, resulting in a subpar product that compromises the effectiveness of their results. With our commitment to excellence, we strive to deliver unmatched outcomes, ensuring our patients receive the best and most potent exosome therapy available.

How long will exosomes stay in my body?

Exosomes will stay in your body for about 6-8 months following your last application, after which they will absorb naturally.

Is GRŌ© hair loss therapy right for me?

GRŌ© therapy is suitable for most people with pattern baldness, except for pregnant and pre-menopausal women. It is important for pregnant women to avoid GRŌ© products.

What does the GRŌ© application process look like?

After your TMC physician confirms your eligibility for GRŌ© therapy, our medical team will measure your baseline hormone levels to choose the best GRŌ© product and dosage for you and to establish a benchmark for tracking your progress.

GRŌ© products are made from a non-sticky and propylene glycol-free base, which is easy to apply and doesn’t leave behind any oily appearance or residue. Each product requires a dosage of 20-30 drops, applied directly to the scalp twice daily. Let the product air dry for at least 3 minutes, then style your hair as you normally would.

What are the possible side effects of GRŌ©?

GRŌ© products are applied topically, resulting in minimal side effects. Topical solutions of these medications generally provide the same efficacy and effectiveness as oral versions but with a lower risk of negative side effects since they are not easily absorbed into the bloodstream. Patients with lighter hair and/or complexions may experience some redness on the scalp, which is typically a result of the product stimulating blood vessels in the scalp rather than a true side effect of the medication.

It is important to note that while side effects are rare, they are possible. If you experience any of the following symptoms, you should inform your doctor immediately:

  • Depression
  • Fatigue
  • Changes in sperm parameters
  • Decreased libido
  • Anxiety
  • Lethargy
  • Erectile dysfunction

Topical minoxidil can cause fainting, difficulty breathing, allergic reactions, or dizziness, while tretinoin can cause mild burning, scaling, stinging, itching, or redness of the scalp, mild skin color changes, mild dryness, and chapping or slight peeling of the skin.
