An Education in Erections
An erection is a response of the parasympathetic nervous system, which means you and your muscles have to be relaxed for you to achieve an erection. Here’s what happens:
There are two columns of spongy tissue called corpora cavernosa that make up the shaft of the penis and are responsible for controlling blood flow and facilitating erections.
