Eroxon

The FDA’s recent approval of Eroxon, an over-the-counter (OTC) topical medication intended to combat erectile dysfunction (ED), has generated significant buzz. This product touts its capacity to stimulate natural responses within just 10 minutes, presenting a marked departure from the 30-60 minute onset typically associated with conventional PDE5i medications such as Viagra. However, Dr. John Robinson, an esteemed authority in the field of hormones and ED, and the founder of Tulsa Men’s Clinic, approaches this development with a degree of skepticism.

Dr. Robinson, whose ED treatment experience spans nearly two decades, voices his reservations, stating, “For the majority of men, solutions like Eroxon often prove ineffective, given their failure to address the root causes of ED. The team at Tulsa Men’s Clinic and I encounter individuals daily who have felt let down by the latest trends, gimmicks, and the allure of ‘quick fixes’ for ED. We are genuinely concerned about patients investing their hard-earned money in these disappointments when well-established remedies are readily accessible.”

Dr. Robinson and the medical team at Tulsa Men’s Clinic, effective ED management entails delivering tangible outcomes, often from the very first patient visit. Leveraging approaches such as the P-shot, Trimix injections, and BoCox, men grappling with ED can start the journey towards experiencing genuine enhancements in various aspects of their sexual health and performance, from sexual endurance, heightened libido, and increased sensitivity to the potential for increases in length and girth.

The Limitations of Eroxon for the Treatment of ED

Eroxon, a non-medicated hydro-alcoholic topical gel, purports to trigger the nerve stimulation required for a natural erection. According to the manufacturer, this gel is applied to the penile glans, penetrating the epidermal layer to reach the nerve endings in the dermal layer, resulting in a cooling sensation. As the gel evaporates, it elicits a warming sensation, which, in turn, encourages the dilation of blood vessels in the penis. This dilation enhances blood circulation, facilitating penile expansion and ultimately leading to an erection suitable for sexual activity.

Because it lacks active ingredients, Eroxon is not categorized as a prescription medication. Instead of a pharmacological product, it is considered a “de novo” over-the-counter physical one. The core of Eroxon’s claim to efficacy lies in the cooling and warming effects generated by the gel’s evaporation, which induce physical stimulation through nerves without the use of chemicals.

Of crucial note, however, is that Eroxon is not a comprehensive solution for addressing erectile dysfunction. Its effectiveness is reported at only 65%, and even the manufacturer’s website issues a caution that ED is a multifaceted and intricate condition influenced by various potential causes and contributing factors. Consequently, patients are encouraged to seek advice from a healthcare professional regarding more holistic treatment alternatives.

Furthermore, the topical application of Eroxon has limitations in terms of controlling the dosage and predicting outcomes. Absorption may be prolonged, and full absorption is not guaranteed. Various factors can also influence the gel’s effectiveness, leading to inconsistent results among different individuals in diverse circumstances.

Expressing his concerns, Dr. Robinson says, “We find these odds quite unfavorable, especially when, here at Tulsa Men’s Clinic, we provide highly personalized treatments with a success rate of 95% or higher.”

Identify and Treat the Cause of ED with Integrative Solutions

More than half of men aged 40 to 70 are affected by ED, with at least a third of all men contending with some form of sexual dysfunction or subpar sexual health. Despite the prevalence, however, establishing a clear cause-and-effect relationship between the underlying factors behind ED and the resulting symptoms remains difficult. Consequently, ED treatments that rely solely on observable symptoms often fall short of delivering optimal results.

Erectile function is acutely sensitive to hormonal fluctuations, and imbalances or low testosterone levels can contribute to ED. But ED can also be triggered by certain medications, such as antidepressants and blood pressure drugs, as well as lifestyle choices like smoking or excessive alcohol consumption. Additionally, psychological or emotional factors, such as anxiety, stress, and depression, can play a role in ED.

Furthermore, ED often serves as a bellwether of overall health, indicating potentially serious conditions like pre-diabetes, heart disease, and low testosterone, among others. Beyond addressing the immediate symptoms of ED, healthcare providers must consider ED within the context of larger health issues, such as sleep apnea, high blood pressure, or obesity.

This is why effectively managing ED necessitates a holistic approach that acknowledges the interconnected nature of the body’s various systems, since dysfunction in one area can often have a domino effect on others.

The ED solutions available at Tulsa Men’s Clinic aim to alleviate the symptoms of ED and address the condition at its root cause by enhancing the body’s internal functionality. These treatments are customized for each patient and often combine traditional and alternative therapies, including:

  • PDE5i medications like Viagra and Cialis
  • Hormone replacement therapy
  • The Priapus Shot® (P-Shot®) with or without Botox™
  • Testosterone replacement therapy for low-T
  • TriMix injections
  • PiezoWave acoustic wave therapy
  • Peptide therapy
  • PhalloFILL penile girth enhancement

According to Dr. Robinson, “Our mission at Tulsa Men’s Clinic is to identify the root cause of ED and then draw from a range of advanced, specialized medical strategies designed to produce enduring, long-lasting results.”

To Dr. Robinson and many other seasoned sexual health experts, Eroxon is—at best—just another tool in your healthcare provider’s arsenal to be used in complement with other solutions, if at all. Eroxon can help lower barriers to ED therapy for many men by improving the accessibility of initial treatment and a favorable safety profile with minimal side effects may make it a viable long-term choice for individuals who cannot or prefer not to use oral medications. Nonetheless, Eroxon should be assessed as a temporary measure rather than a definitive, “cure-all” solution.
